Found an ideal spot to camp at the banks of river Kabini at the backwater of the KR Sagar dam near Mysore. The camping spot is a paid location with clean bathrooms and a optional cook/kitchen for your needs. It is right on the river bank with lots of space around for wlaks and treks during the day. The property is maintained and run as a camp ground.
The location is Wild Earth Jungle Camp. on google maps. I paid 1500 per head for the stay for a BYOD stay (bring your own tent). One has to call ahead and book the place.
We cooked and stayed in our roof top tents for the weekend during September. Watch out of sudden downpours as it is by a large waterbody and thus get humid and pours in the evening without warning.
The road to this location is not paved and a bit hard to find. Google map takes you near the place but the last few hundred meters the road was unmarked.
