SANGAM 2023: A Symphony of Adventure Culminating in New Year Revelry
As the sun set on the final day of 2023, the Overlander Association India concluded the remarkable journey that was SANGAM 2023, an overlanding meet from December 24th, 2023, to January 1st, 2024. Nearly 40 self-sustaining overlanding vehicles, each a testament to self-reliance and eco-conscious travel, embarked on an odyssey leaving minimal carbon footprints in their wake.
Flag Off Point (F): Bargi Dam The adventure commenced at the breathtaking Bargi Dam, a perfect setting for the flag-off. Against the picturesque backdrop of this serene reservoir, overlanders showcased their self-contained vehicles, equipped with solar-powered batteries, inverters, and well-stocked pantries. The spirit of camaraderie blended seamlessly with the beauty of Bargi Dam.
Location 1 (L1): Ghugra Falls at Niwas The journey unfolded as the convoy made its way to Niwas, near the captivating Ghugra Falls. Overlanders navigated rugged terrains, camping under the stars with the soothing sounds of cascading water in the background, sharing stories and creating bonds amid the enchanting Ghugra Falls.
Location 2 (L2): Kanha Kisli Forest Venturing deeper into the heart of India, the caravan explored the Kanha Kisli Forest, encountering wildlife and immersing themselves in the natural wonders of the region. The adventure culminated in Kanha Kisli, leaving participants with memories etched in the heart of this pristine wilderness. Warm blankets and Stationery material were donated to the needy villagers and kids.
Location 3 (L3): Tourist Motel Mandla - New Year Revelry The final chapter unfolded at Tourist Motel Mandla, where the overlanders not only reflected on their journey but also embraced the New Year with gusto. The night of December 31st was transformed into a celebration of joy, marked by an orchestra that serenaded the adventurers under the open sky. The melodies harmonized with the surrounding nature, creating a symphony that echoed through the overlanding community.
Following the orchestra, the celebration continued with a spirited karaoke night, where overlanders showcased not only their prowess behind the wheel but also their vocal talents. Laughter and music reverberated through Tourist Motel Mandla, creating a festive atmosphere that brought the overlanding community even closer.
As the clock struck midnight, the overlanders welcomed the New Year amidst cheers, laughter, and the shared joy of a journey well-traveled.
SANGAM 2023 not only showcased the capabilities of self-sustaining vehicles but also highlighted the spirit of community and celebration within the overlanding world.
